![]() I've also found that most of the ammo available is in the 140-150gr range rather than the 200gr British loading. In the US 38S&W ammo is kind of hard to find and expensive when you do. The British actually considered the heavy grain, low velocity 38/200 to be something of a "man stopper", but US gun enthusiasts are very luke warm with regards to the round. I also believe the British contract guns were made with 5.5" barrels, where the US "Victory" contract guns had 4" barrels. Although the British contracts started earlier and all were chambered in 38/200 (AKA 38 S&W in the US). These are the British version of the WWII S&W Victory revolvers. I refinished the worst one and left the other original. ![]() I bought mine on my C&R about 9 years ago from Southern Ohio Gun for $120 each. I have two of those British Service Revolvers.
